A continuing study into the inner order of a composition, revealed through the act of cutting into its surface. The planes are then separated, shifted, or reconfigured to uncover new relationships between form and space. In this process, precise structures meet intentional irregularities, creating a quiet tension that challenges and redefines the viewer’s sense of balance.

Analysis: Linear Constructs

An eight part study of perfect symmetry and the subtle variations that influence it. Each work in this analysis examines how directional changes and slight background imperfections alter the tension, focus, and visual harmony within the form. These linear constructions invite the viewer to consider how balance can be both precise and delicately unstable.
